Sundar India work center, collects soap scraps from hotels around the city and recycles them into sanitised soap bars for the underserved
SUNDAR India has four work centre’s operating at Kalwa – Thane, Ashte – Palghar, Devkhop – Palghar and Kalas - Pune. A total of 12 women earn a livelihood and have gained a sense of financial strength. Discarded used soaps are collected regularly from several five-star hotels and are recycled. This actively works to reduce environmental damage through reprocessing and reuse of discarded bar soap. Till date 5066 kg of soap has been collected from the five-star hotels.
The recycling method has six steps and it is very eco and housewife friendly. The SUNDAR staff has produced around 101,661 soap bars.
SUNDAR has completed its soap testing for all centres. Soaps are regularly tested at the Microbiological laboratory of the Bhavan College in Andheri Mumbai. Soaps were found to be safe to use.
